Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I installed 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon on sempron3000+ socket 754 with 2048 MB without any trouible, without the splash screen missing.

Problems occur when I tried to make a usb wlan connection with my livebox, when I use a rt2500 usb dongle at top shows connection with this network, but there is no connection with the router nor with the internet.

The same dongle I used with 7.04 Feisty Fawn without any problem and easily connected to intranet and internet.

When I use a usb dongle from Sagem Model XG/763A IEEE802.11 b-g wlan usb 2.0 after entering the wep code the system crashes and I have to disconnect and reconnect my system several times, without any possibility to connect the intranet or internet by no means.

Please advice what to do.

With kind regards

John Wolthuis

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet have enough information.
Please include as attachments the following additional information, if you have not already done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
1. Please include the output of the command 'uname -a' in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command 'dmesg > dmesg.log' and attach the resulting file 'dmesg.log' to this bug report.
3. Please run the command 'sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log' and attach the resulting file 'lspci-vvnn.log' to this bug report.
For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . Thanks in advance!
