Bug Description

I've got a Radeon RV250 [Mobility FireGL 9000] in my IBM/Lenovo R50,
it used to give me the bluescreen of death when I was still running Windows XP, then it was the ati2dvag driver that did not work.
Now under ubuntu 7.1 the screen goes dead on startup right before the login should appear. Further, when testing video card, computer goes black as well halfway through test.
And the visual effects don't work.

thanx,
phil
