Opera Crashes with transfers active

Bug Description

Binary package hint: opera

Opera closes without warning and with no crash report.

This only happens when there are active transfers (only tried with bittorrent transfers). It is repetable... it always happens, but the timing is variable from 1 to 10 minutes (approximately). It happens when there are no other changes being made to the system, e.g. no screensaver, or anything else being activated, and the computer not otherwise being used.
It does not happen when there are no active transfers.

This has only started happening since upgrading to Gutsy.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

When I posted this bug I was using Ubuntu Gutsy. I am now using Kubuntu Hardy and Opera 9.50 (not yet in the repos), and have not been able to reproduce the bug since upgrading to Hardy.

I am experiencing the same issue in Intrepid. The Transfers tab can be open, but as soon as it becomes active, the browser crashes. This happens for me with non-bittorrent downloads as well (I don't use Opera for torrents).

@To everyone experiencing this bug.
If you really want to get this bug fixed then you need to do two things.

1.) Use a crash logger specifically made for Opera to create a crash dump. I give pretty good instructions at the following address that should guide you through this easily:

http://kyleabaker.com/2009/02/10/crash-logging-opera-with-inspector-iixii-for-linux/

2.) Report the crash to the Opera bug report wizard with as much detail as possible about the crash. After submitting the bug, you will be given an email address for the bug you just submitted. Now send an email to this address with the crash log attached to it so they can pin-point the issue.

https://bugs.opera.com/wizard/

Posting repeatedly here won't help anyone and the time it takes from the point that you've successfully caught a crash log to having uploaded and forwarded it to the Opera bug address is about 5 minutes really.

Sending them the crash log is the most important step though.
