Bug Description
latest update and at the same time tried to add amusements to panel to see what it was and now no panel options. also been getting spam in email. all this is on computer a) while I am using computer b) to type this problem. Is it the email spam, the latest dapper update which included firefox, or was it the add to panel option that has rendered com a) useless? please can you help? Cheers!

You're getting spam emails and you report it to here? It has nothing to do with Ubuntu. Choose an email which has spam filtering feature.
Also you give zero information about your crashes so we can't do anything about it. Random crashes can be caused by memory errors.
