Display sleep is ignored

Bug Description

In Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy), the power management for display sleep doesn't seem to be working. When i set the display sleep to "never", the display will still go blank in 20 min. This is a major annoyance since im running a mythtv on my linux box and with the blank screen constantly popping up, its just pointless...
