fails on my gutsy system also even with all firefox plugins disabled

Have included output of firefox when it fails with a "corrupted double-linked list" error

Firefox on an XP system in vmware does not have any problem with it

Seems to be linked to the pango library

A around of this issue is to disable pango
at beginning of (after the first line)
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox
add
export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1

I think the news page changed and the new one does not cause a problem anymore for me neither

Ideally we'd need a page that crashes firefox/libpango systematically

If anyone has one please attach it to this bug

The problem is present on my laptop too. Initially i thought no because my laptop has
 a display 1024X768 so the firefox viewport is smaller than to my laptop.

The problem appears only whe a try to view a specific area of the html page.

I have created a tar file (LaRepubblica.itHomepage.tgz) from my cache to reproduce the problem.
It isen't generate only with a "save as" but i had manualy modify the html source file (for example
to use right css file)

The problem is caused from this html:

        <a href="/news/ired/ultimora/2006/rep_nazionale_n_2647600.html?ref=hpsbdx4">
            <strong>Milano, 22:32</strong>
            &#8212; BERLUSCONI: DOPO FOTO SU OGGI VERONICA E&#039; RIMASTA, AHIME&#0...
        </a>

When i try to view this section of the web page (to the top right, column "24 ORE AGI" ,
near "BERLUSCONI: DOPO FOTO SU OGGI VERONICA E RIMASTA, AHIME") firefox freeze
(see screenshot.jpg)

Hi,

  thanks for the attachment
  it now also fails systematically on my system too

  I'll set the bug as confirmed and try to see if I can create a simpler page that reproduces the same error

It seems that the following character is causing problems

&#0...

the &# construct is supposed be followed by a number indicating the unicode of the character and then a ;

the 0... seems to be incorrect

however, the fact that firefox on ubuntu freezes on this problem is obviously not good
