Bug Description

In kubuntu 7.04 my fn keys works ok. But i upgrade to 7.10 (gusty) and some fn keys dont recognize anymore, increase/decrase bright and alternate lcd/external monitor for example. I tried use fnfx but the fn keys are not recognize and i cant map. Some forums says that is a problem in kernel. The keys to control sound, sleep etc works without problems. My laptop is a Compal EL81.

Can you provide data as requested in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuLaptopKeycodes ?

Can you test the following commands from Konsole:
dcop `dcop | grep power-manager` power-manager brightnessUp
dcop `dcop | grep power-manager` power-manager brightnessDown

Do these two commands change brightness properly on your laptop?

Yeah, these commands works. I Can Up/Down the bright using Power Manager but the hotkeys brightup and brightdown dont works.
I back to kernel 2.6.20 (even using Kubuntu 7.10) and hotkeys works without problems.
The keys returned to down/up keys were:
101 NoSymbol
212 NoSymbol
