Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Some of my musing folders contain pdf and m3u files, Rhythmbox reports these are errors:
- "The MIME type of the file could not be identified" (for pdf)
- "The GStreamer plugins to decode "Unknown" files cannot be found" (for m3u)

I would say that these files should be ignored and errors should be reported for them.

What's even worse is the fact that these errors keep coming back every time you start Rhythmbox.

238 import errors. I think they are all 'Thumbs.db' and I am having trouble using Rhythmbox because if this. It seems to be an old problem last reported Oct 2007 - first birthday approaching.

Are there any solutions? Please don't advise me to clean up my filesystem so that linux is able to cope with it without crashing!

Isn't there an easy answer? one example might be to suggest how to set MIMI types to be recognised, give me the chance to tell Ubuntu to recognise some as 'unused' to be ignored for the time being. This is pretty easy with Windows 2003 I remember..... 5 years down the road now
