Bug Description

I'm running Gutsy on my laptop.
My videocard is
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller
The driver is i810.
I have two displays connected: Built-in display and TV.

Gnome power manager is set up to put displays into sleep after 30 minutes and it puts it only once. If I awake it several times then it never goes to sleep again.

Everything worked perfect in feisty.

I've disconnected TV and switched to driver "intel". I still have this problem

I can put my monitor into sleep executing
xset dpms force off

I've reinstalled gnome-screensaver, but it didn't help. So, I've disabled gnome-screensaver and instaled xscreensaver. Now it works.
But it is a work around, but not the solution.

I solved the problem checking "Activate screensaver when computer is idle". This seems strange that disabling screensaver leads to disabling power management (at least it prevents switching monitor into sleep mode).
Could you at least add a message box saying that it will lead to such results?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
