The upgrade to 7.10 didn't complete and neither update manager nor synaptic package manager will resolve the issue.

Apologies that no one has gotten back to you about this yet. Do you still have this issue? If so, does it say what the issue is that blocks the upgrade?

I gave up on Ubuntu and switched to Mepis.
