Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I get heavy disk activity when resizing columns in the mail view while there shouldn't be any. For example - grab the right side of the 'Subject' column and drag. As long as you keep resizing the column, something is read or written to the drive.

I've got Evolution 2.12.1-0ubuntu1

Thanks for your report, that's not reproducible here with Gutsy, to be confirmed by someone else. Are you running tracker?.

No, there's no tracker daemon running. The disk activity is certainly not related to tracker. I'll try changing a few things and see what happens.

I can confirm this in Gutsy, using evolution 2.12.0-0ubuntu5

inotifywatch in ~/.evolution shows activity in mail/views:
albert@ubuntu:~/.evolution$ inotifywatch -r *

total modify close_write open moved_from moved_to create filename

the custom_view file for the active mailbox seems to be rewritten constantly.

This is known upstream.
