Binary package hint: totem

I download film and subtitle .ssa and not see in totem. I test xine and work fine.
In xine use code:

do you observe this issue using gstreamer and xine backend or just gstreamer?

With totem-xine work fine.

$ dpkg -l | grep totem-xine
ii totem-xine 2.20.0-0ubuntu3 A simple media player for the Gnome desktop

With totem + gstreamer not support subtitle.

It has been fixed in gstreamer plugins, but Totem displays ASS subtitles only if they are inside Matroska container (MKV file)
If are ASS subtitles outside as separate file, Totem will not display them :(
