Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
I have recently updated the Compiz OpenGL packages (they were released within the last 3 days), and my Radeon 9600PRO causes an error message to pop up saying I am running in "low graphics mode". I tried several times to configure Xorg using the utility it brings up when I click "configure", the computer says it needs to be rebooted, and after reboot I get the same error. If I log in in low graphics mode, it says FGLRX is in use in the restricted drivers manager, but graphics control panels say the VESA driver is in use.
I am running Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon i386 with the Kubuntu-desktop package installed, and GDM set as the default display manager.
I have a Radeon X1650 and an SiS305 on hand if switching video cards can help fix this bug.
You seem to have managed to switch your driver from fglrx to vesa. Either that or your fglrx is not properly installed. Since compiz doesn't work with the fglrx shipped in gutsy I'm assuming you've also installed the 8.42 one manually. If so you might have missed something and just not noticed until you restarted.
