Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

Steps to reproduce:
1.) have a new mail sent to your mailbox (e.g. notified through mail-notification)
2.) launch thunderbird
3.) thunderbird main window shows up, downloads the messages, and freezes - no more reactions to mouse clicking or keypressing
4.) TB has to be killed by hand

I'll try to attach strace and console output.

Which Ubuntu and thunderbird version do you have?
Please try to reproduce the crash in safe mode: thunderbird -safe-mode.

I'm using the official TB package 2.0.0.6 (20071022) on up-to-date Gutsy Gibbon. It doesn't seem to crash when run with -safe-mode. The only extension I use is Buttons! v 0.5.3.2 and Tango Icons theme v 0.7. I'll try disabling them.

So the "bad guy" was the icon theme - it seems to crash when TB wants to show its incoming mail notification. When the theme is disabled, everything seems to work again. Thanks for help! You may now close the bug as resolved, I'll direct the author of the icon theme here, so that he knows about the problem.
