Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete.

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

In fact I've figured out your misconfiguration: you have yakkety-proposed enabled, which you should not have.

Hi, sorry, I'm threading on unfamiliar territory since I am more accustomed
to writing in forums.

But, if the following bit of info can help others who have report this same
issue, than I'll be happy to have been of help.

Without further ado:

My procedure for these type of bugs is as follows:

sudo apt -f install

sudo apt update

sudo apt -y full-upgrade

*and when the error pops up* I start to add the packages one by one. Here
is important to read which package supersedes which AND also which package
is more logically important

Yours sincerely,

I have told this before, the only reason I reported this bug was because I
had a pop up saying that _______ has stopped working, would you like to
report this.....

I reported because I thought that I might be helping since I am a tester
(albeit for themes on devel branch and latest gnome).

Thank you for helping out! However see http://askubuntu.com/q/785414/7808: "There is very little benefit to users in using -proposed during the development cycle and such use is strongly discouraged."

Packages in yakkety-proposed that are not in yakkety are *known to be broken* - otherwise they would migrate to the release pocket within a few hours. We appreciate you helping out in testing, but I suggest that you test by using yakkety only - using the proposed pocket provides no real benefit to developers.
