Xmir crashed with SIGABRT in __gnu_cxx::__verbose_terminate_handler()

ubuntu 16.10 + proposed unity8 session / x86 / nvidia

this crash was triggered by closing Firefox window (firefox installed through libertine)
result -> black screen, unity8 crashed

This appears to be a recurrence of bug 1506358, which we closed thinking it was fixed by the introduction of NBS. Obviously not fixed, now the same crash is happening in a slightly different way with NBS.
