openoffice slow scrolling with antialiasing

Bug Description

OpenOffice in Gutsy is very slow to redraw the screen, which makes scrolling very slow and very annoying.

It is solved if in Tools->Options->OpenOffice->View you disable Screen font antialiasing.

Of course, that makes OOo very ugly.

This sounds like it is related to your video driver. Are you still having this problem?

I have the same problem with different systems (i386, amd64) at work and at home.
Disabling antialiasing has no effect.

With diagrams in calc the situation is very problematic for productivity.

On i386, the problem doesn't appear with official openoffice 2.4.0rc2 packages.

The Xorg cpu usage increase very much when scrolling, and decrease after scrolling.

System: Ubuntu Hardy, openoffice.org 2.4.0 rc2 - video driver: nvidia 169.12 (8600 GS, Geforce 6150, 8800 GTS).

Same bug on hardy with nvidia 173.14.12 (envy).
This bug was NOT present in intrepid alpha5 with nvidia 177.
