update manager from 7.04 to 7.10 - getting upgrade prerequisites failed

Binary package hint: update-manager

I remember a while ago that that I tried to upgrade and the installation did not complete.
now I have the message "getting upgrade prerequisites failed"
 4 files in var/log/dist-upgrade. The fourth file, called term.log is empty. The content of the other 3 files is attached.
