Bug Description

Binary package hint: dosfstools

Running on Hardy.

My USB key recently bit the dust and generated gibberish all over the (still recognized as FAT) filesystem.

I dumped the contents of the 2GB key to my hard drive and ran dosfsck -a on it.

I received a lot of gibberish to my terminal for the trouble as it worked with unprintable characters, then a SIGSEGV.

The backtrace, having installed the -dbgsym package, is attached.

If desired, I can produce the filesystem in question.
