Bug Description

Binary package hint: scribus

Since Ubuntu 7.10, Scribus prints completely BLACK pages on Epson Stylus CX3900. I think it prints one black page for each page in the document. PDF output looks OK. Printer works perfect with other applications.

Which PostScript level do you use?

Sorry, I have stopped completely using Scribus quite a long time ago because of this and many other (usability) problems, and at my new home I don't have a printer, so I can't test.

But it would be nice if someone else could answer this question.

BTW, how do I know which PostScript level I'm using?

Thanks for your interest!

This is NOT a duplicate of bug #131442, because the present problem is about a pitch BLACK page, while bug #131442 is about a blank = WHITE page. Printing a totally black page is extremely expensive, as it sucks up almost a whole cartridge!

I am having this problem. The printer is en epson stylus cx3200. I just upgraded from hardy to karmic, and the problem continues.

It's the same with either the `scribus' (1.3.3) or the `scribus-ng' (1.3.5) version.
I also tried to remove my ~/.scribus config file (directory), that didn't help either. Only black!!!

This sucks, as scribus used to be the best program to print from (only one where you can actually trust that it will print out in the correct size). How to fix/debug this?

summary: - scribus prints black pages
+ scribus prints BLACK pages
