Bug Description

This problem appears about 25% of the time.

1. mobo is ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
2. Running 64-bit gutsy
3. Regular PS2 mouse

Roughly 25% of the time when I boot, at the log-in screen the mouse is unresponsive. The only fix seems to be to reboot and to hope that it doesn't happen again.

This did not happen with 64-bit dapper running on the same hardware.

I have confirmed that this occurs with both the nvidia proprietary driver and the nv driver

I have a similar problem installilng gutsy on an older 32bit amdk6-2+ bus mouse. I could not move the cursor over the install icon to click install on the first start up screen. My solution was to use my old edgy disk and it's fine with edgy. I pulled over 32bit gutsy Jan 15 2008 or so. Ian.

Hi there
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the development version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron?

Thanks in advance.
