Bug Description

The version of e2fsck included in the latest version of Ubuntu is obsolete. It
can't handle any partition created by Fedora Core or any other Redhat
distribution. It makes it impossible to use Ubuntu on a system that multiboots
with FC or convert over an FC system.

It isn't obsolete. It was the current version as of February 2005, when Ubuntu
5.04 entered feature freeze.

The latest version is, of course, available in our development branch (breezy).
