Bug Description
I accidentally chose the wrong profile and it took like 30 seconds for it to
stop trying to change profile (I'm guessing it was waiting for DHCP to timeout
or something <shrug>). I would have liked the ability to click a Cancel button
or something to tell it to give up immediately.

Strongly seconded! A simple mistake costs tons of frustration.
The DHCP timeout is overly paranoid too, could probably be significantly lowered? See Bug #29765 for some ideas.
