GNOME Tweak Tool hangs on startup on Artful

Bug Description

When I try to start GNOME Tweak Tool via

gnome-tweak-tool

on the command line the process starts but never opens a window. It keeps simply running for infinite time.

After some minutes the process terminates and I get the message:

Failed to register: Timeout was reached

Did it work again the next time you tried to run Tweak Tool?

I've seen Tweak Tool hang on startup when I was testing it and I just killed it and restarted it and it worked the next time for me.

No, I started it several times and it always hanged.

found this when searching for the same problem on arch-linux, i got it working again by launching tweak-tool and killing dependent python3 processes

BTW, the correct package for more recent releases is 'gnome-tweaks'.
