Thanks for the report taiebot65. Could you please run:

    apport-collect 1702165

to attach more information to the bug?

Is that libreoffice installed from the ubuntu repositories, or the snap package? Are there any crash files related to libreoffice under /var/crash/ ?

That looks very similar to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=865303, and is probably caused by the same root cause that triggers the x86 build failures (bug #1700692).

I can reproduce the crash when creating a new database with libreoffice base, in an up-to-date xenial x86 VM. Not with writer, but the crash being in the JVM instantiation, it’s more than likely that it is the same.

Attaching a full backtrace of the crash.
This can consistently be reproduced in a a zesty (17.04) i386 virtual machine (kernel 4.10.0-26.30, libreoffice 5.3.1-0ubuntu2, openjdk-8-jre 8u131-b11-0ubuntu1.17.04.1), by launching base and creating a new database.
