sc@sc-laptop:~$ amarok
Amarok: [Loader] Starting amarokapp..
Amarok: [Loader] Don't run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use amarokapp.
amarokapp: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
sc@sc-laptop:~$ amarokapp
amarokapp: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

With latest Hardy
Version: 2:1.4.7-0ubuntu3

This error happens when you don't have Nvidia installed. Please for this kind of support use http://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu.

Here's an advice:

# locate libGL.so.1

...

I did - # ln -s /usr/lib/xorg/libGL.so.1 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 - and then Amarok worked again.

It also occurs with other applications that use graphic acceleration.
