non-ascii characters rendered in a mix of colors

Bug Description

As shown in the attached screenshot, non-ascii characters are not consistently rendered in the same color as ascii characters on the language selection screen.

I only see this problem when booting under BIOS, not when booting under UEFI.

Yes I see this too. It's not always the same color either, which is a bit wtf.
