Bug Description

Binary package hint: planner

In installing planner 0.14.2.2ubuntu2 on version 7.10 (gutsy) in spanish, the product installed (planner) omits the "open database... " dialog:

Archivo
   |
    ------->Importar
                      |
                       -------> MS Project XML (only appears this option)

it omits "save to database " dialog in Export option too.

I have installed planner 0.14.2.2 from debian with gdebi and worked very well, the dialog to save to a database appeared.

After that the icon marking software updates started to flash insisting in install planner 0.14.2.2ubuntu2 I let it update the product and the problem appeared again.

thanks

In Jaunty, 0.14.3 has the 'save to database' function.

However, a backport to the version in karmic (0.14.4-1ubuntu2) exhibits the behaviour in this bug report again. The backport was built using prevu.

Possibly a dependency is missing from the build file?

The lack of database support is caused by a change in the configure options in Planner 0.14-4.

From this version, the option is --with-database
Previously it was --enable-database

Changing this option resulted in the Open from/Save to Database options being restored to menus.

Will report as a separate bug. The bug in this report was caused by a compile failure in the package build. The database support was removed in 0.14.2-2ubuntu2 until a patch was added. It was restored in 0.14.3-2ubuntu1) (intrepid.)
