Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx

This package release breaks pretty much everything by failing to include libGL.so files. If these files have moved, there should be a package dependency. My system is in pretty sad shape right now. Help?

I see this issue too. However, it should not be filed against linux-restricted-modules but against xorg-driver-fglrx, which is responsible for libGL, se http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/search_contents.pl?searchmode=filelist&word=xorg-driver-fglrx&version=gutsy&arch=i386

The source package of xorg-driver-fglrx is labeled as linux-restricted-modules, so Launchpad wants to use that label. If this is incorrect, that's a separate bug, I think.

It has been several weeks and this is still broken. Can somebody please comment? Thanks.

Hm, from /usr/share/doc/xorg-driver-fglrx/changelog.Debian.gz:

linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 (2.6.22.5-14.1) hardy; urgency=low

    - Do not include libGL in xorg-driver-fglrx, it works fine with the system
      version.

So at least it was intentional, even if not completely successful :)

this should be fixed now by l-r-m-2.6.24, although it's not installable currently.
