Bug Description

Binary package hint: gedit

"Could not open the file /home/fekette/Desktop/at…aller-7-11-x86.x86_64.run using the Unicode (UTF-8) character coding." --- this is the error when i want to install the ati driver that i downloaded from the official site .Its for linux but it doesn't work .So what shall I do ? I am a new user on Linux Ubuntu 7.10 gusty

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
