Not showing connection duration in Gutsy

Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-ppp
When connection was established in Feisty, the small window text changed from "Dialing..." to "Connected xx:xx:xx" where xx denotes connection time. But in Gutsy, even after connecting, nothing changes, and the window still shows "Dialing...". So it is not possible to see how much time you are connected.

Gutsy is no longer a supported release, and this issue seems to be resolved in newer releases.
If you still have this issue with a current release, please feel free to re-open this bug.
