Horizontal gray bars in display after last security update

Bug Description

After the last security update, I have gray ghost bars that run the entire length of the screen on lines that have text or graphics. The display was working fine before the update. The monitor is shared through a KVM with another machine and works fine with that machine. I have a Nvidia NV900 video card installed. I tried to adjust my video settings using the "Restricted Drivers Manager", but it says that I have to load "linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22-14-server". A brief internet search revealed that this package does not exist.

Do you know which package was changed in the security update? Sounds like perhaps this bug belongs to linux-restricted-modules?

Brian,

Does this mean that there is a bug in the software?

Is this issue still occurring with the latest hardy version?

I don't know, I changed by video card. I will put the other card back
in this weekend and let you know.

Since the hardware is no longer available for doing troubleshooting with, we'll have to close the bug for now. However please feel free to reopen if you or anyone else has the same HW and can reproduce this issue using the latest development version of Ubuntu and is willing to do some troubleshooting with it.
