Straw doesn't handle gnome proxy settings

Bug Description

Binary package hint: straw

1. rm -Rf ~/.straw
2. straw
3. Although System->Preferences->Network Proxy is set like:
Manual Proxy conf, use the same proxy for all protocols, http proxy is defined as 172.16.42.133 port 8080 (no authentication)

Parallel to straw startup this is captured:

Above addresses are the IPs of the default feeds straw comes with. See starce output attached. Ubuntu release is 7.10 with latest updates.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10?
