openoffice calc delete contents dialog

Issue:
Edit->Delete Contents... does not bring up a delete contents dialog box. Just deletes.
Right-click-->Delete Contents... does not bring up a delete contents dialog box.
Del key (Same problem)

Discussion:
Previous versions of OpenOffice.org Calc used the Del key to bring up the Delete Contents dialog, backspace was used to clear cells without deleting formatting or formulas, ctrl-x used to delete without confirmation.

In all cases, the menu system should bring up a dialog box, as per the ellipsis in the menu system "..." that follows the Delete Contents...

What specific version of openoffice.org-calc are you using? You can find the specific version by issuing the following command in a Terminal:

dpkg -l "openoffice.org-calc"

I was unable to reproduce the issue with openoffice.org-calc=1:2.3.1-3ubuntu2. A delete contents dialog box appeared each time. Thanks.

the dpkg command results in:

ii openoffice.org-calc 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5.3 OpenOffice.org office suite - spreadsheet

I see that I don't have the same version as you, however update manager is not prompting me for any additions. I'm using only the Gutsy repos. Not sure how to update to 1:2.3.1.

 The problem is reproducible on my system 100% of the time. (Just tested it).

It appears that the dialog popup from menu part of this bug has been resolved with Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking this bug as Fix Released. The part where the delete key doesn't work as it should has a separate bug oepn already. If after upgrading you still have the menu delete issue then please feel free to reopen the bug.

Two questions:

1) Can you point me to the bug on the delete key so I can track that.
2) On my Gutsy system am I able to get the hardy release
1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3, and if so, how?
