[Hardy] Can't force quit update manager when it hangs

Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I am not 100% sure that this belongs in Compiz, so please reassign if necessary.

When Update Manager hangs in Hardy, the user cannot force quit the application by clicking the [x] or by choosing right-click > "Quit". Nothing happens if the user clicks [x] and the application does not close.

This used to be the case in Synaptic Bug #36527 but is not any more. Now in Synaptic, clicking [x] brings up the force quit box after the appropriate delay.
