Write speed menu drawn half empty

Bug Description

When clicking on the Write speed menu ("Maximum possible" was selected before
clicking),
the menu is very large and half empty, see picture.

nautilus-cd-burner 2.10.0-0ubuntu2 on Hoary 5.04

thanks but that's not a bug. The current menu item is opened on the button's
place, you can read about it here by example:

Yes, that does not explain the empty area. What is it's purpose ?
(I already posted a comment on the upstream bug, you can answer there, if you
feel like it)

As the upstream bug report illustrates, a number of users disagree with the authors over whether this is a bug or not. The fact that it keeps getting reported indicates that users don't accept the behavior as intuitive and instead see it as a bug. The initial report for this bug was nearly four years ago.

From my user perspective it IS Big and annoying BUG.
I am ashamed every time my friends are here and start asking questions like:
Why your drop-down menus are half-emty (and then re-populate)
etc etc..

There is also Bug 388633 , where it is explained/discussed more about the current behavior.
