firefox on ubuntu 7.10 very very slow

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

i have dsl from at&t. they say that my connection speed is excellent but my ubuntu and or firefox are maybe to blame for slow internet browsing. Pogo.com is very frequently visited and this is where it is the slowest. lagging in the game rooms and always slow to load. any answers?

when loading the page, the flashplugin is started, which somehow locks
firefox for a while.
