Bug Description

I have the latest firefox with flashplugin-nonfree
flashplugin-nonfree:
  Installed: 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12
  Candidate: 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12
  Version table:
 *** 9.0.48.0.2+really0ubuntu12 0
        500 http://ro.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/multiverse Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I experienced some problems like crashes or freezes, but today it just simply freezes the firefox and after a couple of seconds continues to load the page but the flash on that page is not showing up!
Flash just simply's not loading!

I am assuming you have 64-bit Hardy (9.0.115.0 is the latest version of flashplugin-nonfree in Ubuntu Hardy 32-bit). Try installing this package: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10804892/flashplugin-nonfree_9.0.115.0ubuntu2_amd64.deb

This is the compiled package of flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.115.0, the latest source package in Ubuntu. See http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=636397 and Bug 173890. If the above package solves your problem, please mark this bug report as a duplicate of Bug 173890.

i've installed the package, yes I own a 64bit version of hardy.
But after the install, when I visit a page with flash it says that I
don't have flash plugin installed so I should go to adobe.com to get
it.
Any ideas?

The Adobe flash player is only for 32-bit. If you install the package I provided (flashplugin-nonfree), nspluginwrapper will allow your 64-bit browser to use the 32-bit Adobe Flash Player plugin. That is why simply installing the Adbe flash player on 64-bit Ubuntu will not work. Make sure flashplugin-nonfree is installed.

I'll close this bug (reopen if you feel that I should not close it). And move any comments on the libpcre.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory bug over to Bug 176778.

Changed in flashplugin-nonfree:
status: New → Invalid

I also studied the problem and suppose that libpcre.so.3 is the file
that generates the bug.
I've even copied the 32bit version file to my /usr/lib32, then
successfully installed the flashplugin-nonfree, but without any
results.
I mean the flash in firefox still doesn't appear!
