Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

When trying to move the slider from one point of mp3 track to another (let's say from 1:30 to 2:31) the message showing "internal data flow error" appears. After that mp3 playback can be resumed from the begining but the whole errors is still occurring.

Ok, I was a little bit surprised that I am to run rythymbox, but nevertheless if it were to help - I did :)
Here you have the file from totem - I have caused the described problem during playback - you should see it in file.

I have the same problem with a same software configuration, can be reproduced on any mp3 file I've tried. With VLC player there is no problem as far as I can see.
I've attached my totem-debug.txt file (zipped) with this event included, hope it helps.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I also am getting the message "An Error Occurred Internal Data Flow Error" almost every time I attempt to seek/fast forward or rewind with the bar. I can only then resume play from the beginning. This is happening with .mpg videos for me. I have included my own debug txt like the instructions above said to do.

Thank you.

do you have the issue on any mp3 or just a specific one?

I have an update on this issue on Hardy. Although no error message was given, there is some misbehaviour that can be related to this bug.

When I move the slider forward and backward while the file is being played, at some point the sound output is stopped, slider usually jumps to the beginning of the file (once it was at 18 sec from the beginning), the controls shows that it is still playing. It is not possible to resume the playback from the totem controls in any way I tried, the only way is to re-open the file. When trying to move the slider at this state, it always jumps back to the freeze point.

I've tested about 10 files, same behaviour occured in all of them, except one.
Attached totem-debug.txt.zip with this event captured on the following file:

does anybody still get the issue in jaunty and could open the bug on bugzilla.gnome.org where the people working on gstreamer will actually read it?
