Bug Description
Binary package hint: evolution
Evolution, after a while, maybe timed out, gives me this error message: "Welcome response error: Operation now in progress" and never sends the email. Of course this messages don't gives to the user a useful information.
After investigating, doing a telnet session I found that the problem is that the server is rejecting the email because a RBL rule:
$ telnet mail.somedomain.com 25
Trying <SERVER_IP>...
Connected to mail.somedomain
Escape character is '^]'.
HELO somedomain.com
rblsmtpd: <YOUR_IP> pid 2499: 451 http://
220 rblsmtpd.local
250 rblsmtpd.local
Evolution should be able to give to the user a better error message because:
- the message that is giving now is idiot
- we must identify the problem to be able to correct the problem
- almost all email servers have RBL rules enabled (or some other rejecting by ip policies)
