error message displayed when installing or removing pakages from synaptic package manager

Bug Description

When ever i install or remove any package from either Synaptic Package Manger or add/remove, i get this error message :

E: linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-14-generic: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Is there anything more to the error?
Can you do a
sudo apt-get update -f

i also get this error when i try to get update or upgrade using terminal window

E:dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a'
