Xnest crash when starting game wesnoth in it - X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) - X_CreateWindow

Bug Description

1) start xnest with:
Xnest :1

2) start an aterm inside it:
DISPLAY=:1 aterm

3) go to the aterm inside Xnest window and start wesnoth game (dont know which other applications trigger this problem)
wesnoth

and it will immediatelly crash with:

X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  Major opcode of failed request: 1 (X_CreateWindow)
  Serial number of failed request: 1737
  Current serial number in output stream: 1761
X connection to :5.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

ubuntu 7.10 amd64

(the pasted report was from connection to server :5 obviously, but the problem is the same)

I'm unable to reproduce this bug using the directions provided:

bryce@dell-desktop:~$ Xnest :1 &

bryce@dell-desktop:~$ Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/X11/cyrillic, removing from list!

aterm: can't open display :1

Could you post updated directions that will work on Hardy?
