Realtek ALC6628 sound card not detected in Hardy

Bug Description

My sound card, a "Realtek ALC6628 Hi-Definition Audio 5.1 CODEC" doesn't seem to be detected under Hardy Alpha 2. "hardinfo" doesn't show a working sound card. No controls are shown in "GNOME ALSA Mixer", and going to the "Sound card Config" menu option crashes the app.

I had no problems at all with the card in Gutsy.

I have exactly the same problem, generic build-in AC97 sound card stopped working after the update to the beta issued 26 march 2008. Gutsy had no problem with the same card

Here are the results of testing: even the lspci finds the card, aplay does not....

~$ aplay -l
aplay: device_list:205: no soundcards found...
sergey@homebase:~$ lspci -v

Is this issue reproducible in 8.10 alpha?
