Bug Description

I do get sometimes after the upgrade to Hardy a blank topscreen.

I start gnome and execure via a session...
xrandr --output LVDS --mode 1280x800 --pos 0x1024
...in order to get my dual screen working (external screen op top of my laptop screen)

Now I dont know when this happens but not often the top screen blanks out and I have to blindly drag windows down in order to use them again.
By re-running the xrandr command nothing is changed.

(I even think... I will check now ... that restarting x --> crtl-alt-backspace solves the problem)

After a clean reboot things are back to normal

Workaround: (just found out). Go in -Stand by- mode , close and open the lit and everything is back to normal.

The above solution doesn't work always though... so I mostly just need to reboot the system. Killing X isn't the solution either.

Graphic card: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
also using compiz cube with xrandr (1.2) and awn curves-look

So perhaps the problem lies in one of these applications/hardware
