Error in updating apt in Dapper

Bug Description

I tried to update (or install) apt, but this happens:

$ sudo aptitude install apt

Thanks for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better.

This is actually a bug in tetex-bin. Reassigned accordingly.

What happens when you enter this command:
sudo aptitude reinstall tetex-bin

Dapper's fallen out of the list of supported Ubuntu releases anyway.

This report may be invalid, but it's certainly not because dapper is out of support. Dapper is 6.06LTS which means desktop support until June 2009 and server support until June 2011.
