Bug Description

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose

When running vditool from the command line, it fails to run:

$ /usr/lib/virtualbox/vditool
/usr/lib/virtualbox/vditool: error while loading shared libraries: VBoxDDU.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It can be fixed like this:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH='/usr/lib/virtualbox'

but this should not be necessary.

I can confirm what Luke wrote, still present in hardy, but I am not sure the binaries under /usr/lib are meant to be called directly from the command line

Changed in virtualbox-ose:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Confirmed

vditool has been replaced by VBoxManage (since Jaunty).

Changed in virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Invalid
