Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-ubuntu-
I'm running Gutsy on a Lenovo T61. Sound usually works fine, even after suspend & resume. However, once in a blue moon I lose sound after a suspend & resume. Applications think they're playing, but no sound comes out from the speakers. Alsamixer shows all channels unmuted and volume nonzero. A reboot fixes things.
dmesg shows a suspicious message in the middle of the resume process:
hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to single_cmd mode...

Removing and reloading the snd-hda-intel module fixes things too, and also adds this to dmesg:
hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to polling mode...
FWIW during boot, hda_intel prints nothing to dmesg.
