Bug Description

Binary package hint: alsa-base

Unlike the other sound problems with the intel driver in ubuntu, I was just with sound until Gutsy when I lost it. But reinstalling the latest drivers fixed the sound somewhat. It is still not very loud. In hardy I have the same issue, no sound. I am sure the same steps of reinstalling the sound driver would do it. But should I really have to do that?

As another note... I can't disable the modem. That option is not available in my bios.
