Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

The following URL does not download in firefox (gutsy updated today).

http://www.ekran.org/ben/video/Memory-Association-Machine-PDCON07.ogg

wget and epiphany have no trouble with the file, but firefox just sits there trying to download it (spinning icon) no information in "Downloads" and the previous page stays on screen. I've left it for 30 minutes, but will leave it overnight to see if it timesout.

Can anyone else confirm this behaviour?

I've cleared by browser cache and that seems to have no effect.

It started playing immediately in Mplayer within the browser for me, are you sure you don't need to load any plugins. Have you tried right-clicking the link and selecting save as?

I'll report using the other method.

I can't now produce the problem regularly, a certain set of operations
will show the bug 3 times in a row, and then the 4th it works.

I'll reframe the bug to say that firefox gets into some state where it
will not load some URLs. Is it worth bothering with an strace of the
session until the buggy URL thing happens?

Thanks,
B. Bogart
