Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

I had it for the second time now within 2 Months, that pidgin was greeting me with "you have no IM accounts configured yet...".
Looking into the configuration files, I found out that accounts.xml has been filled with NULL bytes while still having its original size. All other xml files are apparently not affected.

Thank god I have backups but this bug stinks.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
